Smart TVs game consoles even sound bars these days. They've got apps built right in. You've got access to Netflix and Hulu without adding anything else. So, why in the world would you want something like this back in the matter is some Smart TV systems.Just really aren't that great and the Smart TV stuff that you get inside a game console is actually kind of limited compared to what you can get with a dedicated streaming device,

Then you have to talk about streaming sticks they're way less expensive and they're smaller footprint you can put them in your pocket .Why would you go for a streaming box like the Roku ultra here.

accessories aside and take a closer look at the box itself really what we want to see is on the back that Ethernet port is a big reason why this product exists.

When you're streaming 4k video say you have like a home media server or something like that this is essential for stable streaming and also it really helps when you're streaming 4k HDR from Netflix or Amazon Prime video HDMI

Output of course we've got a power cable there we've got a USB slot over here .This little guy on top allows you to call the remote so if you lose the remote you press this and the remote chimes will show you that in and then of course you've got Roku's cute little tab right there oh and one more thing right below the HDMI port is a micro SD card slot that is for storage of apps so you can either store apps in the cloud and only download them when you use them or you can expand the storage and hold as many apps as you possibly can afford.

yes Roku ultra I agree we should get started but before I begin pressing buttons let me just point out that while we have the Roku ultra sitting here as a set-top box it doesn't actually need to be visible at all..In fact you can hide it behind the TV part of the reason for that is that the remote actually operates via bluetooth not infrared. So, you don't have to have line-of-sight you can hide this thing away. We just wanted to keep it here for visibility sake and demonstration purposes. you'll want to create one and if you do have a Roku account let's say you have other Roku devices or maybe even a Roku TV elsewhere in the house the great thing about Roku is that it will

automatically take all of your preferred apps and get them loaded. So you don't have to go through and pick and choose the apps that you want on the Roku, it already knows what you like and it's gonna put it on there and guess what you should already be signed in to Netflix and Amazon and Hulu already. Alright so after the Roku self updates it's gonna restart and then it's gonna prompt you to either grab your phone or your laptop and sign in at Roku comm. Now if you have an account you'll just log in there or you'll create one I have an account and actually I misspoke earlier it doesn't

automatically sign you into your apps but it gives you the opportunity to do. So from this screen so it's gonna ask you what your interests are it's gonna suggest a bunch of apps for you it will automatically detect the ones that you already subscribe to and then you'll have an opportunity to click sign in here and part of the process of setting up the Roku will be you log in to you various services so that when you're done here everything will be signed in

on the Roku itself yay we are all done and yeah you know what this takes a while because I think it installed something like 128 apps. me John Wayne movies .I don't know why Ipicked John Wayne but now that that's in there I press and hold - and now number two is set to search for John Wayne movies you can program these to be

two programmable keys and I think I mentioned this earlier but it does have a headphone jack and you can plug in the provided JBL earbuds .So, that you can listen privately if you want to the only drag about that is that it tends to drag down the battery life pretty quickly on a remote which is why I wanted to mention that there is also the Roku app which not only lets you control the roku device with your smartphone or tablet but you can also listen privately

through your phone either the phone speaker or connected headphones or wireless headphones. So there's a number of different ways you can enjoy your content privately without actually having to use the volume on the television . If you want to the entire Roku experience is based on roku OS and it's really great search capability and then you get some pluses with the hardware the reason you want to get a roku ultra like this is because you're a

power user. You watch a lot of 4k content you want that ethernet connection and you want the most lightning fast experience you can possibly get there is zero let with this platform and apps launched almost instantly, so that's really why you want to go for this particular device otherwise you probably want to look at one of Roku's sticks which offer the same voice remote capability and 4k HDR stuff . It's fantastic if there is one not against the Roku ultra it's that it doesn't support Dolby vision which is a different flavor of HDR .I really don't understand why that is it's such an

advanced device and if you can spend a hundred bucks on a streamer I feel like it should have it maybe the next iteration will but for now it remains the best high-end streaming device that

FIRE TV STICK 4 K STREAMING WITH ALEXA VOICE REMOTE

welcome back to the blog. I'm gonna tell you how you can spend 30 dollars as a one-time payment to cancel your cable forever and turn any TV into a smart TV using the newest amazon firetv stick.So, this is going to be an in-depth review of this stick and essentially how you can plug it into the back of any TV.The apps you can get on it how well ,it works with different TVs as well as what is different about the newest remote which supposedly can control any TV as well as The fire stick.

So there's a lot to talk about in this article. let's jump right into it.

So I've seen a lot of other article out there about the fire stick and some of them are just plain unboxings. Theydidn't talk about them,some of them are older versions, some of them talked about

apps that you can't get on here anymore and so I wanted to make an updated one.

For 2019 or 2020 the newest model of the Amazon fire TV stick to really tell you guys you know whether or not. you want to buy this is this something that actually is worth it for you to spend $40 or $30. On this and buy it for your TV or is it you know maybe it's not for everybody maybe you want to stick with your cable and your antenna and your satellite or whatever you might be using so there's really a lot to talk about here.

First I want to say if you're not familiar with amazon firetv sticks you don't actually need an Amazon Prime account so it's not gonna be any monthly charge to you to use this. It's just gonna be you know whatever you pay up front so 30 dollars to buy this and then

you'll set up an Amazon account which won't cost you any money and you don't have to sign up for Prime and it'll still work just fine. You just won't get all the Amazon Prime channels you can

still get free TV and lots of other apps. on here I'll talk about those later on in this video so if you're looking at this and you're gonna say all right Piyali.

I get it this little black rectangle plugs into the back of my TV but maybe it doesn't fit on my TV so what if you have a TV that you know you plug this up. underneath and the TV curves out and

then this stick is so long it doesn't fit well lucky for you it's 2019 right.

Now and that is the year of the dongle. so this is by no exception you have a dongle coming in the box you can plug this in and you know complete your whole home to ongo system and just plug it

into the back your TV in any orientation. So really convenient right there and then if we can get a close-up right here.

You'll see the only other thing on this little box, this little fire stick is actually the power port right there so looking at this Amazon fire TV stick up, close this is the newest generation. It's 3.4 inches long 1.2 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick so relatively small and as I

said you can use the dongle if it doesn't fit on the back of your TV

you have the HDMI output right there and then you also have your micro USB power supply on the side so this can show up to 1080p for 60 frames per second. it weighs 1.1 ounces, so as I said relatively small the processor on theinside is quad core erm 1.3 gigahertz. So, it's gonna be decently quick a much quicker than some of the older models. You might have seen this also has 8

gigabytes of internal storage that's primarily going to be for apps or photos .You're not gonna be really be able to download any videos on this and watch like if your power or your internet goes

out or anything of that sort .So you really won't be banking on this for entertainment. If you lose internet for some reason now this also has bluetooth 4.1 plus Lapera or le pair. I'm not exactly sure how you say that but essentially what you can do is you can

connect peripheral devices besides just the remote and use them for you know so gaming for example or you can use maybe headphones you can have wireless headphones with this and I'll talk about that in a second so dual band dual antenna Wi-Fi and it's an IR device control, so on the remote right here you'll see there is IR here so you can control your TV and it should be almost any TV out there all you have to do is input the model or the make of your TV and it'll automatically program. So you can turn it on or you can turn the volume up or down or of course you can mute it you also have the regular buttons in the middle here which are going to be controlling essentially your fire stick ,so you have your up-down

left-right which is this little ring .Right here which honestly is pretty similar to like the old iPods the only thing I really wish they had like the little ring or you could do your album flow you can spin around like that. So you can't do that on here unfortunately

you have a middle button there that's your OK button you'll have you know.You're back home menu rewind play fast-forward the same normal six buttons there and then you also have on the top

a little microphone button and above that is the microphone so why is there a microphone right there so Amazon can sit

in a basement with hundreds of peoplelistening to your conversations. Just kidding ,sort of really what it is so that you can use Amazon Alexa on your TV so a really powerful way to make your TV a smart TV and even a smart home to some extent where you can control like a Philips you light bulb or maybe

some Lutron lights or whatever you might be using if you have an echo somewhere around your house you can control it all with this you could order pizza order an uber you could look up the weather

there's you know endless things you can do with Amazon's Alexa and of coursethis is an Alexa enabled device now.

     What's cool about this new remote well it's when they first came out with the Amazon fire TV and honestly for that matter the Roku and so many other devices.

It became annoying that you had your other TV remote that all it would do was turn your TV on and off and then adjust the volume. You had these you know the number pad that didn't do anything you can't control the channels with that remote anymore and so all of a sudden you had two remotes just to turn your TV on and then to select what you wanted to watch so Amazon came up with a nifty idea of turning your TV on and off with this It's really simple, it doesn't actually change the size of this really at all it's still essentially just a simple little remote much smaller than

most other remotes for that matter andit's really a very convenient feature to.

Okay so guys to be clear the biggest difference between this and the old fire sticks that you might have seen and I'm talking even as old as just last year is really the difference in the remote.

So as you can see the buttons right there the mute the volume down volume up and the power button in the top corner should be able to control any TV that's on their list and they have hundreds of TV's on there. So here I have a Magnavox a pretty old TV .Actually I think it's about ten years old, so we're gonna see if it works on this one. So first we're just gonna hit volume up and volume down and you'll see right there it is actually changing the volume when we hit the mute button. It's looking like that's not actually muting the TV all right .Now let's try the off and on button all right .So, the off button is working yeah off and on is working and it looks like

basically this is working very well. Although the other day I did notice that when I unplugged the fire stick after a few minutes eventually this stopped controlling my TV and I guess it drifted

away and was no longer paired and when you first turn on your fire TV stick the very first time it'll ask you to select the language and then it's gonna walk.

You through a basic configuration I'm gonna fast-forward through that right.Now to tell you guys just you know it's really pretty simple to set this thing up it's then gonna ask you to sign in to

your Amazon account. Okay, now while this is happening I want to tell you guys the app really quickly . The apps not that exciting it acts just like the remote so.It's not going to be like the chromecast.

You're not really casting very easily but it still can be a little easier to type and make things go a little quicker.Then it's gonna bring you to this page right here and ask you what kind of TV you have there are hundreds of different TV brands, So, you just go

down and find whatever TV brand you have. Select it and then it's gonna tell you to go up and down on the volume, so let's just say whatever land on that one is not actually a TV I'm using but we're

just gonna show you right now so you'll tell you yes it's gonna be a volume playing and is it working and then your setup .Now here to tell you about how to use the remote. I'm just gonna skip that because I already know how to do this so it tells you at the bottom you just skip .Right through all this stuff now here's where it recommends you get Amazon Prime you don't need it.

So, choose your streaming services you can choose different ones.so let's just say you have you know whatever apps down here,select which ones you want so. Looking at the actual interface of this you'll see it's not all that different from like a Kindle or something else where they have their home screen with all the different apps that you have and they sort of try to organize it. So,you have like the ones that you most recently use they have a sponsorship right there. They do plug a lot of their prime stuff so they're gonna say if you have Amazon Prime you can watch these

Prime series then they have other things that you might want to get different things .You know your cable subscription if you can sign in through cable like if for some reason you have a cable subscription you still want to use. A fire stick you can use these you can go down and find things to rent or buy.

There's a lot of different options down here and once you add other apps that like the free ones so if you add to be or if you add Pluto TV they're gonna show up with like what's on right now and you can easily watch different channels that are on for free. So let's

go and get an app right .Now I'll tell you guys how to do that. It's really simple .All you want to do is go up and go over to search and you can search for it right here. Once you select it it says you own it of course that just means that it's totally free to download and

then it's going to download and once you get it you can actually start using other things. You can navigate the regular interface here while it's downloading in the background and then it'll just pop up whenever it's ready .So this is a little bit of a noisy interface in my opinion it could be a little cleaner a little easier to use but they do try to organize everything right here one thing they don't do quite as well as a Roku is when you search for different movies they sort of plug their own stuff first and they don't do the really nice Roku thing where they sort them by price.So, you have your videos movies TV shows apps and settings

settings of course is going to be where you're going to be able to connect like a Bluetooth device if you want to listen to you know whatever you're watching on TV with your earbuds one complaint. AsI said earlier is that I wasn't really able to control the volume very easily for my earbuds using this device but you can go through and select your sounds and applications you can adjust your controller in any way you want and of course you also have the peripheral devices if you have headphones or anything of that sort so there's a lot of settings in here I recommend you go and check them out once you get your fire stick if you choose to get one but otherwise I'm not going to cover a whole.

yet so right there Pluto TV is one of the first free TV apps you can get there's also you can use Kodi and get some other channels through there like you saw saw before to be was another one.

So, Pluto TV they have a lot of different channels that are totally free here similar to antenna TV so they're not going to be like the best channels but they'll have like the food network and a couple other channels of that sort and I can actually cover this in another article. If you guys want go down and comment and let me know if you are interested in this another thing I should mention is that the apps for this sync across different devices so if you sign in on

here or if you sign in to your internet on here and then you get a Kindle later. It can typically sign into your internet automatically and use a lot of the same apps use a lot of the same accounts and

they make it really seamless if you have a lot of different Amazon devices. So now let's talk a little bit more about Alexa now all you to do with the remote is press and hold the microphone button and

then you can talk and say whatever you want .So, let's say example we're wondering what the weather's like Alexa. What's the weather like in Miami today and another thing to note guys is that you can see in the background all the apps that I chose in the beginning are downloading right now and they're popping up that's why those little pop-ups keep happening in the corner but right there. You see we have the weather so it works you can do a lot of other stuff you can ask you questions it'll Google things or search it I don't know

if ease goggle actually but you can do a lot of other features well you can access a lot of things with the Alexa right here. Let's try it open Pluto TV Alexa open Pluto TV. So it'll easily open a lot of different apps that you have although sometimes navigating

within the apps isn't always the most convenient using this fire TV stick sometimes it's easier to actually navigate through the apps using the remote but if it's like an Amazon app.

You've using Amazon Prime video you can easily ask it to pull up any show or movie or even you know a particular episode if you're interested in that. Okay so from the home screen let's go up and go check out the apps if you go to the apps tab across the top and you go down they'll suggest like a ton of different apps so you might be interested in getting most of these are free to download and let's just go down .They have you know just to show you some of the great ones that they have so they have you know plenty of different movies and TV show apps they have sports apps they've got .You know any kind of like network that has their own app you can get those.

Whether games you know lots of different stuff and then so games right here. Let's get cross the road and see how that works oh you're not going to be playing any big games on this but if you're

interested in playing like snake or pong or whatever or cross the road for this ,example it's definitely something that could work if you want to do that on your TV I'm not really sure how many people want to do that let me know in. The comments down below if this is

actually use this on an old TV like I said if you get a little adapter I'll link that in the description or you can use it on a new TV even a smart TV and just make the TV smarter or Alexa enabled or whatever you're looking for and another thing I really like to do is

actually plug this into a projector and suddenly you don't need a laptop sitting next to it whenever you want to play movies or TV on your on your projector.

So what's my overall opinion of the fire stick honestly for just $30 it is a really nice device it's great that you can control your TV and the fire stick with the same remote, so that's a huge step up from the previous models we might have seen .I wish there was a casting option a little more you know just so it's easier to cast from your phone or your laptop it's not something.

I like about the chromecast a little better than this but overall this is a great home theater system that you can plug into any TV or projector and instantly turn it into a smart TV so, that's my opinion what do you guys think let me know down in the comments below.

A 31. So guys here's the box now let me just put that aside and give you some basic information.

This one is all built in to aliens base weight it is sold at  11,000 392pcs.I guess that's a variable price it's the base variant with 4 gigabytes of RAM and64 gigabytes of storage .Next way it is priced at 12,999 rupees for 6 gigabytesof RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage it'savailable in two colors fantasy whiteand mystic black and we have the basevariant in the fantasy white color sothat's the basic information.

Now let's come back to the phone itself here's a quick preview of how the phone look this is the fantasy white and it has a

completely different color scheme altogether.  The front we have the phone's name and a quick preview for the phone looks like and on the sides we have some more branding from Oppo and ICC on the back. Here triple camera four thousand to thirty million per battery and a 6.5 inch HD Plus display but that's kind of a disappointment. So anyway let's get on

with the unboxing ,so, ok it's done. At

the top we have a cardboard box which

should have a soft silicone case along

with some documentation. So, first we have

a SIM card ejector followed by some

documentation and a soft silicon keys.

            Let's put that aside next we have the

phone itself let me just put that aside

as well so there we have it next we have

a micro USB charging cable and finally a

10 watts power adapter so no fast charging a rivulet and watts power adapter so these are the contents of the box.

 Let me just put everything aside and

come back to the phone so here's a phone

with a sticker on the back I know it's gone so this is how the phone looks on the back this is the frosty white color with a huge changing from white to green and this

the phone looks on the front. Now let's

have a physical overview on the back

this phone has a plastic back panel with

a nice curve to it and the two-tone colour finish as I've said frosty white white to green looks pretty different at least it doesn't feel cheap at the top.

     We have the camera module with the

triple camera set up followed by single

LED flash and an engraving that says

designed for a series we said that we

have the fingerprint scanner with a nice

golden rim and at the bottom we have the

Oppo branding on the front you get a

massive display with a dewdrop notch and

about the camera .We have the earpiece

and below the display it has a small chin as for the sides on the right side.

It has a power button and on the left side we have the volume buttons along with the SIM card tray which houses to nano SIM slots along with a dedicated SD card slot these buttons are made of plastic they have a nice quicky feel tothem and they are sufficiently elevatedas well. At the top it is completely plain and finally at the bottom we have the three-point .when I'm audio jack followed by the microphone hole micro USB charging port and the speaker grille now this phone has a thickness of 8.3 mm and weighs 180 grams in hand it doesn't feel all that thick in fact it feels pretty sleek and as for the weight.

Weight distribution is decent it has a bit of weight to it but doesn't feel alL that heavy now. Let's try out the keys that we get inside the box this is a soft silicone case and this is how the phone looks with the case on on the back and this is how it looks on the front as for the camera module there is a slightly raised lip so it does protect the camera module but not too much.  It's almost negligible and on the front it has a slightly bigger raised lip so once again it can protect the display but not too much .Overall this case can be used for the first few days it can prevent smudges and give you some extra grip but that's all ,no draw protection. In fact it doesn't even provide the basic protection for the camera module so if you're getting this phone I would suggest you to get a better case as soon as possible.Now with that said these are the complete specifications of this phone .On the

this one has a triple camera setup with

a 12 megapixel primary camera with F 1.8.

     6.1 based on Android 9.2 and pouring

this device is a 4230 milliamp a battery.

So, guys these are the complete specifications. Now let me turn on and set it up and come back to you in a

Android 11 is already out there a distant beta so under 9 is pretty late and about that storage out of that 64 gigabytes of space.We get about 46.7 bigger bites of space for our user apps and user data.

     Now let me show you the free RAM for

that we need to enable this particular

toggle, now if we go to the recent apps

page we can check out the amount of

freedom that we get right out of the box.

So out of that 4 gigabytes of RAM we get

about 2.15 gigabytes of RAM free right

or the box now let's check out the

camera interface. So this is a camera

interface for the rear camera looks

pretty similar to other Oppo phones over

here. We have a quick toggle for zoom.

       This is 2x digital zoom next we have 5h

digital zoom. This phone has just a single primary camera there is no telephoto lens.So if you zoom in it's just like taking a picture and cropping .So I would recommend you to take pictures in 1x itself .Next we have the chroma boost mode which makes colors pop out a lot.

I'll show you sample shots later on the

right side we have the portrait mode and

on this phone before taking a portrait

shot we can change the amount of

background blur effect you want using

this particular slider on the left side.

We have video recording there's nothing

new. We can record video at a maximum of

1080p resolution and you can change the

video resolution from here ,so there's

only 1080p at 30fps, no 60fps no 4k .Now

 here we have some extra options. First

we have stickers time-lapse expert

panorama and for some reason we are

missing the macro mode so that's pretty

surprising. I don't know why a macro mode

went maybe .Let's check out the front

camera so this is the interface for the

front camera and initial impressions

front camera looks pretty decent. I'll show you sample shots later but initial impressions just from the preview window it looks pretty good andby default a eye beauty mode is enabledand to disable it you need to slide it down and now a beauty mode is disabled. This is a portrait mode for selfies that's portrait selfies once again you can change the amount of background blur effect you want before taking a portrait selfie using this slider so that's pretty cool .Next we have video recording once again we can record video with the front camera at a maximum of 1080p resolution. Next we have stickers and this is something that I've skipped out

for the rear camera and you can take

some funny pictures like that normally

it should have lot more options but for

some reason once again that's missing.

Maybe we can get it with a future update.

So that's the camera interface .It's

slightly buggy and slow we also have time lapse for the front camera and panorama that's wide angle selfie, just take a picture and twist your phone left and right to get a wide-angle selfie, so that's the camera interface and there really aren't many camera features onthis form considering. This is just a mid-range form now these are some sample shots.

So guys now let's test the fingerprint

scanner .I've already set it up so here.

We go fingerprint scanner is super fast. I just have to find it.That's the only delay.

It's really hard to find the fingerprint

scanner but once you find it it is

pretty fast maybe I can find it easier

with the case on. Let me just try that.

 so what the K is on it's much more

easy to find because of the groove so

that's the fingerprint scanner. It is

super fast and definitely usable so.

test the face unlock feature. I already

set it up and here .We go this is good

lighting condition and it is super fast.

It just takes like half a second that to

just to unlock the lock screen now. Let's

test it in low lighting conditions and

even in low lighting conditions, it works

but it's slightly slower .Now let's test

it in complete darkness .Even in darkness

it's working but slightly most lower probably taking like a second or two

maybe .We have to bring my face closer to

the phone yes so even in complete

darkness face and lock works. It's just a

bit slower and you really have to bring

your phone close to your face.

So guys that was the face lock feature.

Now let's test the speaker loudness by

the way this one has just a single speaker at the bottom and  the maximum volume is preety good.

So whereas that was the speaker loudness

it is definitely loud in terms of qual.whereas that was the speaker loudness

it is definitely loud in terms of quality it is lacking a bit but overallit's sufficient for media consumption ringtones and alarms, no major issues now.

Before you conclude these are the

benchmark scores so guys this is the new

Oppo A31 now this is a retail phone and

considering the price and the rest of

the aspects I must say it's prettydecent but for the price I wouldrecommend you to get something like a vou 20 or you can go for the real me phones which offer you very bit of value and the real me phones are also from Oppo so you really aren't missing out on too much .Overall this phone is decent good enough cameras are also decent specially front camera is good but at that price I would recommend you to

Today I have with me the redmi note 10 s now this is a kind of an upgrade to the redmi note 10.It gets a better processor

and an improved primary rear camera. 

            So let's go ahead. unbox this device and take a first look. 

         So this is what the box of the redmi

note 10s, looks like and it does mention a few key specifications on the box.

        It's got a 64 megapixel ai quad camera

full hd plus amoled display and a few

other specifications mentioned at the

back as well . So it's got a mediatek helio g95 processor and a 5000mah battery there's a lot more.

   Let's go ahead and unbox the device

and take our first look at it.

The redmi phone is the first thing out

and wow it's a different color here.so this is the deep sea blue color variant of the redmi note 10s.It's a gradient finish what do you think about it. Do let me know that it's a fresh new color looks nice I'm going toquickly power it on, keep it aside and let's check what else do we get in the box.

      So we have the sim eject tool here, a

couple of documentation and a case that comes in the box so that's a nice addition here.

      There's nothing else.

Take a look at the charger ,so get a 33 watt charger in the box.I t's a big brick,it's got a usb type a port orange color highlight thereand the cable that you get in the box is a usb type a to usb type c again

orange highlights here so but does look

a little different so I'm gonna put that

aside pack it up and let's take a look

at the phone now.

 I'm gonna quickly set the phone up and

as you can see it runs miui 12.5 now this is the latest and I think this is the first smartphone to run miui 12.5 out of the box.

          I'm going to quickly set the phone up

and then talk you through all the specifications of this device,so now we have the option of setting up screen lock.

       Let's go with the fingerprint setup

as you can see it's got a side mounted

fingerprint scanner, just like some of the other xiaomi phones, we've recently seen.

      Now the placement is quite good it's

very easy to reach when you're holding

the device that's on the right side along with the volume buttonsas you can see it's very quick to register the fingerprint

that does give you the option to check a

few other options .I'm going to switch

off personalized ads not a big fan of glance for me so I'm going to switch that off as well.

           In the next step you do have the option to choose between a classic look and the one with an app drawer.

Now it all depends on what kind of a

layout you prefer,Iprefer the app drawer so that's the one I'm going to choose.

Now the setup does recommend a couple of

apps to install while you're setting it up

using get apps so I'm not a big fan of

a lot of pre-installed apps on the device I'm going to skip this.So now that we have set up the redmi note 10 s ,I'm going to quickly run you through the specifications of the device. So at the front you've got a big 6.43

inch amoled display .Now this has 450 units of brightness with a 1100 nits of peak brightness.

       It's got full hd plus resolution and

it's got corning gorilla glass 3 for protection.Now it is powered by a mediatek helio g95 soc which is a gaming processor and we've seen it on other xiaomi phones as well.

     The ui feels smooth quickly scroll through it without any issues.

It's got a hole punch at the top which has a 13 megapixel selfie camera.

    Let's quickly turn around and check the

back. So it's got a quad camera set up here

with a 64 megapixel primary camera so it

is a 64 megapixel wideangle camera an 8 megapixel ultra wideangle camera with 118 degree field of view a 2 megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixeldepth sensor and there's a flashright next to the primary camera as well.

     The one placement is quite good it's all

on the right it's very easyto use and the buttons are reachable so it's quite

easy to unlock the smartphone while

holding it. It's got the sim tray slot to the left so we quickly pop that open and check the configuration that we get and as you can see it's got a three slot configurations you get two nano sim slots and a dedicated micro sd card slot so storage expansion

is possible without losing sim functionality here.

   It's got a tiny rubber seal around as

well which helps this phone get the ip53

certification so it is splash proof to

some extent. The phone is quite thin so that is something i like about it it does pack in a 5 000 milliamp hour battery in it so quickly remove the sticker ,so that you get a clear look at the back.

    So now that we've covered most of the

hardware .

Let's quickly check the software.

So, xiaomi does mention that it's running

an interim update of miui 12.5.

     It is running the april android security patch which is recent and acceptable

and it is running on top of android 11.

       Xiaomi does offer three variants of the

redmi note 10s the base variant has 6gb of ram and gb of storage the mid variant gets your 6 gb of ram and 128 gb of storage.

Whereas the top end model gets you 8 gb

of ram and 128 gb of storage now this is

lpddr4dx ram and ufs 2.2 storage.

     Quickly taking a look at the app drawer.

you can see that it does havesome pre-installed apps on it.now the phone does not feel very very heavy and easy to manage at the bottom it has the usb type-c port the 3.5 mm headphone jack and the primary speaker now this phone has got stereo speakers.

     So at the top you also have another

speakeralong with an ir blaster which is quite common on redmi smartphones with a secondary microphone right next to it.

              BIt's just a sneaky tease of some of the specs as you can see there you don't

just get a battery you get a mega battery .You also get a very thrilling completely white usb cable and also very

wide psu you've also actually got some

headphones bundled in there as well

although they are just your basic ear

scrapers nothing too extravagant they are 3.5 mil though because you do actually get a headphone jack here on the oppo a74

and oh yeah you knows it oppo has also

bundled a rubber johnny case in there as

well to keep your oppo a74free of damage .

         The highly thrilling contents of the box. Now let's check out the actual oppo a74 5g itself which is a pretty standard

size in 2021 and 6.49 inches it's 190

gram chassis so it's got a decent little

heft to it pretty standard again the back end of the operator 74 is constructed from plastic rather than gorilla glass which you do get on a handful of rivals at this sort of price point but it seems nice and sturdily constructed and this is the fluid black model not sure what fluids are involved exactly but you can also pickit up in spare silver. If you want something a little lighter i do quite like the design i'm not usually a fan of black smartphones but it does have this kind of aura about it it's very funky when you tilt it to light as you can see they get all kinds of patterns reflecting off that shiny arse end my only worry is that it is a glossy finish to that backhand so that's going to pick up your scuffs your finger grease all that kind of stuff so it's probably going to look a bit grubby after a day of handling you're going to have to be constantly buffing it up

nothing particularly stand out about the

oppo a74 design apart from likeusual edge mounted .Fingerprint sensor should make a big comeback in 2021. Always great to see

and of course yes praise the baby jesus

you do have that headphone jack down

below and while there was no mention of what the actual display is constructed of.

           There was certainly no mention of

gorilla glass in the specs or anything

like that you do at least get a pre-installed screen protector slapped on there just to help protect it from scratches and scuffs

as for the sim tree.

         There we go what you've got there is support for dual sims side by side and you've also got a separate slot for your micro sd memory cards to expand the storage.

         So let's get the oppo a74 5g all set up and then we can till the rest of it alrighty. so the oppo is 74,5g all set up and ready for action and there is quite a lot of setup involved because even though it's android 11 you do have to reinstate features such as the app straw and the notifications pull down option as well because you've got the color os 11 launcher slathered on top that does change up the look and feel quite a bit and color os definitely raises quite

mixed opinion shall we say um it is quite clunky in places such as the settings menu

which is just so utterly dense .I  do

often have to resort to that search bar

just to find what I'm looking for so for

instance to get the gesture navigation

on board you do have to find the navigation section which is buried away in the convenience tools not very convenient

at all ironically on the plus side though you do get some great features chucked into color so for instance customizing

your android smartphone is nice and easy

this way you can eat quickly easily change up the wallpapers the icons the fonts they even got ringtone maker whichtakes me back to my younger days of getting a bit of eight bit tunage action on the go on my nokia 3310. I think it was yeah quickly and easily change up those wallpapers uh so you can of course use one of your family,

if you're not a massive anime geek unlike me you jump on into the convenience tools section where you find that navigation

support stuff you've got plenty of other

gestures in here as well like some

reasons to wake which is good when

coupled with that face unlock and while we're passing the storage section as well you've got 128 gigs packed inside the Oppo a74 5g and that is of course expandable as well via micro sd memory cards and there are a few other color ways features that i'll touch on later when appropriate the likes of game space yada yada and then yeah on the security front you got that edge mounted fingerprint sensor pretty standard for budget blows in 2021 and software touch one seems nice and nippy and responsive as you can see there just tap your digit against it.

       You're straight away unlocked into your

desktops and they can't be backed with a

good bit face unlock as well. So let's

just get that all set up wow that was super nippy. Now does it actually work let's give it a go ,yes it does and it's so fast don't even see that lock screen. Love it and as i mentioned before the opera way 74 does support raise to wake as well so you just have to literally pick up your smartphone

stare at it and you're straight in now

where you got slapped here on the front

end of the oppo a74 5g is a 6.49 inch

ltps display quite similar to an ips panel so not quite an oled ,unfortunately you don't have that super sharp contrast there's no hdr support here touch one seems reasonably bright. You've got nice wide viewing angles and everything as well and yeah you've got that selfie orifice which is raw the gap in there in the corner but at least it is shunted away into the corner

quite punchy colors though considering

it's not on or lead and you do have fast 90 hertz refresh support as well.

         Although i've got to say because you've got a rather heavy color os launcher on there certainly when you're zipping around the desktops and so forth.

     It doesn't feel like a 90 hertz panel

and there's no dynamic option in there

either it's either 60 or 90 hertz manually

set though at least it is set to 90 hertz by default after all you do have that mega battery packed inside the oppo a74 so hopefully you shouldn't be drained much faster now.

Let's turn our attention to the audio and unfortunately it is just a model speaker set up here on the oppo a74 5g nor stereo speaker action but let's see what we got here with voice control unfortunately and

yeah the top volume isn't super powerful and things do get a bittiny once you bump it up to that maximumlevel as well. So if you want to be enjoying a bit of tech spurt or something I'd definitely say just get

plugged in via that headphone jack

otherwise you do get the usual bluetooth

wireless support as well. So let's move

on to performance what you've got running the shore here on the oppo a74 5g is qualcomm's snapdragon 480 chipset and

that's one of qualcomm's most affordable

5g ready platforms launched back at the

start of 2021 and as you can see from

the geek bench 5 scores pretty similar

results to what I just got from the

xiaomi redmi note 10 5g another 5g ready

smartphone at the same sort of price point that one rocked the mediatek dimensionally 700 chipset. Well that phone only had four gigs around we got six gigs stuffed inside ofthe oppo a74. So let's try out a bit of game and see how it handles that certainly expect uh the snapdragon 480 to be able to handle at the very least likes a pub g and call of duty mobile and as usual with the color os action you do have the game assistant uh . Tools which you can call up at any time this adds all kinds of bonus features including the ability to reject calls block notifications. I'm gonna change up the performance

mode as well so we've got the pro gamer

mode on the go hopefully make the most

of that snapdragon 480 and the adreno

619 gpu ,as you can see there you've got the

option of getting the graphics quality

very high but i'm actually going to max

out the frame rate which then just bump

that down to the high level and on those highest frame rate settings.

I definitely noticed a couple of moments

where the oppo a74 5gs frame rate did

drop uh usually when i was yanking out my

weapon or some inopportune moment like that but other than that quite a smooth

experience the 180 hertz touch sampling

means nice and responsive every poken job is instantly replicated on screen but it will be fully tested out the game and chops of the oppo a74 5g .

For my full review including how it comes with longer sessions and of course one of the benefits of that snapdragon 480 as i

mentioned before is that 5g support built in there actually straight onto the platform itself so you've got that nice nippy connectivity great news if you

want to get gaming online when you're

out and about and here's hoping that

that mega battery keeps you going all day as well again i'll be testing.

Alright about 20 hours have passed.

Already since I shot the first part of

this video I already tested the camera a

bit ran a couple of benchmarks the delay

the gaming test and yeah just used this

phone a bit so that I can tell you a bit

more about it. Now so let's start with

the design we are getting a 6.4 in

screen here and yeah it's one hundred

Let's go around the device a bit first.

Of all we've got a 20 megapixel front

facing camera here then we've got the

6.4 inch screen with rounded corners the

chin here is not too small but totally

fine in this price range and let's go to

the back say we've got the plastic body

again it is a glossy body which means

you probably will see fingerprints and

dust and so on quite easily you can see

a little bit dust here already but yeah

that's what we get with glossy phones.

Then we've got the fingerprint scanner

and that one works quite well by the way.

 And it was easy to set up and it works

very well if you want you can use facial

recognition with a front-facing camera

too but that probably won't be as secure

because it's only the front-facing camera and no additional sensor but yeah

fingerprint scanner works very well then

we've got the camera module here and

that one consists of a 48 narcotics

camera and then 1/8 may takes a white

anger camera and a 5 megapixel sensor

that's for a depth detection for those

blurry effects background effects and

then we got a standard LED there as well.

             We get the Samsung logo here and also byon the bottom there's a USB C port andthis circuit headphone jack I really

like that because yeah I like headphone

jacks so we still get them with cheaper

phones apparently then we've got one

single speaker so it's not really a

stereo speaker and you don't hear any

stereo separation I already tried.

          Netflix to see if you can watch it in HDbut you can and the sound only comes outof one side so yeah it's a sound it's

not amazing I mean it's usable of course

to watch YouTube with I tried .YouTube

true and it works fine but it's

certainly not the best speaker . On this

side we have the SIM card slot and also

the micro SD card slot and it is a dual

SIM phone you can also put two SIM cards

inside if you like on the top there's

nothing then we've got a power button

and the volume rocker on this side and

for my normal hands it feels quite well.

I mean it I press immediately

automatically onto the power button so I

think the placement is pretty good.  Now

let's get to the six point four inch

Super AMOLED screen which is a pretty

nice screen that it looks quite nice

very colorful it has a resolution of

2340 by 1080 so it's basically a Full HD

screen it's just a bit higher because it

has a wider aspect ratio yes the screen

is a very nice one .I can show you some

      I think thescreen looks really nice it's a colorfulscreen like we are used through from theAMOLED screens from Samsung also a full HD resolution is totally sharp enough especially on a six point four inch

phone, so you won't see any pixels here

even if you look very closely.

         I used it outside already and you can

the screen quite bright but it's of course it's not the brightest screen ever but I use it outside already for a bike tour where I also took some photos and it was usable in direct sunlight you can see a bit but of course as I said it's not the brightest screen as we would expect in this price range. 

             Now let's get to the internal hardwareinside the galaxy m-21 sits a samsungexynos 9600 xi opticore processor so ithas eight cores and total together withthat we get four gigabytes of RAM and a64 gigabyte internal storage out ofthose 64 gigabytes you can use 49.3 geekout bytes out of the box and the rest is

taken up by the system and th pre-installed apps I already ran.

Geekbench five and you can see the

results see I also took some of the

website for the other phone so that you

can have a little bit of a comparison.

Here the performance seems pretty good

in real life too I also did a gamingtest.

      I played Call of Duty and that one looks

and ruins very smoothly I had no issues

at all playing Call of Duty it's a fun

game to play on here I also played as

five 9s v 9 which is a racing game of

course and here while it looks ok the I

did notice some stuttering in between it

didn't rent super super smooth as Call

of Duty mostly did so there are some

status was us-59 I mean in this price

range you can't expect the best gaming

performance of course but as you can see

you certainly can play even a bit higher

end games like Call of Duty and us-59

even though it is a really cheap phone.

          Alright let's get to the cameras they've got a 20 megapixel front facing camera here inside this notch and on the back.

We've got three sensors and three lenses

and total first of all of 48 megapixel

main camera it's a normal angle camera

then we've got an 8 megapixel wide-angle camera and then we also get in 5 megapixel camera but it's not to be

a camera adjustment for like it's a

depth sensor so you can have the blurry

background if want then we also have an LED flashlight.

      There I already took a couple of central

photos I took her to a bike ride and as you can see the 20 megapixel front-facing camera takes decent photos.

 However when you zoom in it's lacking a bit of detail from 20 megapixels I would

expect a bit more detail the 48 megapixel camera on the back has lots ofdetail if you take photos in the 48 megapixel mode you have to activate that first there are two issues though first of all and when you use the forty eight megapixel full that's full the resolution then you can't use effects

like HDR and so on and also if you take

a photo it takes one or two seconds

until the photo is saved so with full

resolutionyou can't take lots lots of photos after each other but if you use the normal

camera mode and of course you can't take

lots of photos and then you can use HDR

and so on and the photos out of that

look fine to the eight mega takes a

wide-angle camera . It's not the detail if

you zoom in and especially if you see um

the wood on the bottom there if you zoom

in a lot there's not that much detail of

course it's only eight megapixel yeah

but we get a wide-angle camera on a very

cheap phone I think that's a nice

addition and probably more useful than a

telephoto camera so you can take a 4k

videos with a back camera and fully free.

                 Videos was the front camera and thatlooks fine too obviously everything here.

     I took was under pretty good lighting

conditions if you take photos in the

dark so a picture with fall apart very

very fast I mean first of all is this

phone camera and then it's a cheap phone

camera but I think I'm the quality and

the normal I just totally fine especially if you don't have too high expectations it's yeah seem to be good camera snapshots and so on alright then.

     Let's go to the software on the Galaxy

m21 runs Android ten including the one

UI in version 2.0 let's quickly confirm

it yes and were 10 + 1 UI 2 so it's we

are pretty pretty up-to-date phone.

          I'm usuallysting tablets and I haven't had a tablet with Android 10 yet which is what we said because I tested pretty much every tablet that was released this year 

and retain one UI and it has all these

standard features that you are probably

familiar with already from Samsung you

can have lots of customizations in the

settings you can have a blue light

filter you can even adjust the colors

but you can make it warmer you can make

it a bit cooler if you want and yeah

it's all the standard send some stuff.

  You can use facial recognition or the

fingerprint scanner and you can also

replace those buttons see on the bottom.

You can have it you can just use

gestures if you want so obviously all

those samsung apps pre-installed here -

first of all Samsung has a couple of own

ones they have their own browser of

course their own phone apps and so on

and they also have like voice recorder

files at radio app that one internet app

as I said we also get these then at

Google Apps their pre-installed as usual.

          YouTube works great and then we get a couple of Microsoft apps they're all

free anyways so you can just uninstall

them or reinstall them they're free.

       Java's apps one write linked and outlook and here Netflix is included Spotify is included as well.

      The Samsung Notes app is included as

well it's a quite a nice notes atYouTube Music is there the game launcher.

I installed those games and his the

benchmarks myself so they are not

included so as the software seems quite

nice. I've got nothing bad to say about

it obviously it's not vanilla Android at

all but yeah everything .
